We originally loved the small town feel of the area because we were from a big city. As time has passed it is not a small town anymore but its small enough that it is a relaxing place to retire but busy enough to have amenities for a growing family. It was supposed to be our retirement house but the kids moved out of state and we have followed.Ive taken the kids to the aquarium, Civil War sites in the area and encampment in Newport. Fort Macon, the Aquarium, tourist attractions and beaches in Emerald Isle, and the Crystal Coast, and the Ferries to Outer Banks. These are just a few locations to visit just minutes away.
